Your main goal is to rebuild the once-glorious Imperial City, restoring it to its former splendor. To do this, you will need to carefully manage your resources, recruit powerful generals, and upgrade your city’s infrastructure. The journey starts at your base of operations, where you can tap on the Imperial City icon to begin upgrades using gold or natural resources. The first upgrade is always free, so be sure to use this to your advantage on all the other buildings within your city walls! As your city grows, you will need to make strategic decisions about when to spend your gold (a rarer resource) and when to utilize natural resources for continuous development. Each upgrade will unlock new features and allow you to build a stronger foundation.

As you focus on strengthening your city's foundation and building its infrastructure, the next crucial step is to recruit and organize a powerful army of generals who will help protect and expand your realm.

Gathering Warriors: Strength in Numbers 

With your city growing, recruitment becomes a critical part of your strategy. To protect your newly built city and expand your influence, you will need to recruit powerful generals. Diao Chan, ever the resourceful beauty, will guide you through this process. 

Head to the Garrison, where you can use Recruitment Gems to summon either Basic or Deluxe warriors. The more gems you collect, the better your odds of unlocking super-powerful generals like Lu Zhi or Gan Ning, who can tip the scales in your favor. Start with Basic Recruitment if you are low on gems or just getting started, but as you accumulate more, use Deluxe Recruitment to unlock rare and powerful warriors who can help you dominate the battlefield!

Once you have recruited your generals, it is time to add them to your Garrison roster. In this tab, you can strategically organize your team into different roles, including the Imperial City, Research Bureau, Infantry Camp, Cavalry Camp, Archer Camp, and Artillery Camp. Each general you recruit brings with them unique abilities and stat boosts, so choose wisely when filling each camp. As you level up your city, additional slots will unlock, giving you more room to deploy your growing roster of generals. The key to success lies in synergy—placing the right general in the right slot is crucial for maximizing their effectiveness. For example, a general with high defense stats should be placed in the Imperial City to bolster its resilience, while a general with offensive skills could lead your Infantry Camp or Cavalry Camp for stronger attacks.

As you progress in Thrones and Beauties, take the time to elevate your warriors and level up your generals’ abilities! Ascend your warriors to unlock their true potential, making them even more formidable on the battlefield. The more you recruit and upgrade, the stronger your army will become. Use items you obtain during battles in Adventure Mode such as flowers, fine wine, and jewellery to upgrade your characters. As you continuously level up your warriors, they will collect up to 5 silver and gold stars, which will eventually unlock extra steamy rewards! 

As you continue to recruit and upgrade your warriors, don’t forget that the fate of your city depends on your strategic thinking. Diao Chan will be your guide, but ultimately, you are the one who must lead your forces and restore the Imperial City to its rightful glory. With each carefully placed general, upgraded building, and calculated battle, you will inch closer to your goal of uniting the realm and becoming the ruler of a thriving empire.

Construct, Upgrade, and Expand

In Thrones and Beauties, the whole war thing isn't super complicated, but it still packs enough of a punch to keep you on your toes! So, now that you have gone over the battle plan with your soldiers, it is time to see how well you can handle being the big boss. 

Every stage in Adventure Mode is auto-battle, but don’t let that fool you—the satisfaction of crushing your enemies is still as sweet as ever! Watch as your armies gather before you can auto-deploy them against enemy raiders. Then in SLG view from above, see your armies tackle each other! Oh, and let’s not forget about the sweet loot you get from those treasure chests after completing your missions. Who doesn’t love free stuff, right? 

If your army takes some damage during battle, don’t sweat it! You’ve got options. Head over to the Medical Hall where you can either let your troops heal up slowly over time or throw down some of that hard-earned mullah to instantly patch them up. Either way, they'll be in good hands, so no need to worry about them.

But hey, maybe you’re not feeling super ready for that big boss battle? No problem! You can always head over to one of the training camps to make stronger soldiers as well as to bolster your army's numbers. Whether it is Archery, Infantry, Artillery, or Cavalry, each camp gives you the option to train your top-tier characters. You can auto-train them or spend a little extra to give them some serious skills.

Oh, and here’s a little pro tip: If you upgrade your Enlistment Station, it will speed up your training camps, making it way easier to get your warriors battle-ready. But hey, don’t tell anyone I told you that! ;)

You might also want to occasionally check your Beacon Tower, as here is where an important part of your Garrison will be scouting ahead for any trouble on the horizon. Additionally, the Wall surrounding your City will need to be constantly guarded as well as upgraded so as to keep out wild troops and enemy factions. You can also check on your defense by tapping on the Wall icon, which will launch a new window where you can see the status of your City’s safety. Want to feel extra secure? Head over to the City icon and then select Buff to see a list of defenses you can add as protection such as; defense shields, bluffs, harvest bonuses, and much more! 

Still feel like you need more combat practice? Or do you just like winning? Well, either is a great excuse to head over to the Training Grounds where glory is calling your name, Commander! 

United We Stand: The Power of Alliances

Part of the job of being a ruler during war torn times is to make your army an unbeatable force to be reckoned with. In Thrones and Beauties, there are a few ways to accomplish this, and the first stop is at the Training Grounds. 

The Training Grounds is where you will find the Arena as well as the Battle of Champions. In the Arena, go up against other players from around the world and see if you can get a winning streak and a place on the leaderboard. In Battle of Champions, like in the Arena, you can participate in time-limited events against other players. When facing stronger opponents, use the Inspire feature to greatly enhance your troops’ strength. 

Of course, you will also want to spend some time forging alliances. Afterall, alliances are often made during times of war, and your allies could be the key to unlocking greatness! Just tap on the Alliance tab at the bottom of the main page to join or create an Alliance. From there, you can receive Supply Boxes which all members automatically receive when a purchase is made in-game. As well as Alliance Wages which is an awesome way to collect extra gold and resources. The Embassy is where you can help other alliance members with the construction of their cities as well as trade resources and send troops to aid in battles. 

Much like the Embassy, the War Academy is where allied troops can be rallied into forming a powerful coalition to strike the enemy! Upgrading this building will net you a larger army to command, but be aware that you will need War Horns to rebuild as well as other resources. 

Speaking of epic buildings to unlock and upgrade, the next one on our list is the Research Center. A place where strategy meets science! As Sun Tzu once wrote, “The greatest victory is that which requires no battle.” So, do you think you have what it takes to master the art of war? Time to find out!

Knowledge is Power: Advancing Your Civilization

Once you have built a solid foundation through the Training Grounds and forged powerful alliances, the next step in your journey to dominance is to unlock the Research Center. While your army grows stronger through battle and cooperation, the Research Center allows you to refine your city’s infrastructure and technology, enabling you to stay one step ahead of your enemies. By investing in research, you will unlock new abilities and upgrades that not only enhance your military power but also improve your city’s resource production, defenses, and overall development, setting the stage for even greater victories.

Now that your Imperial City has hit a certain level, it is time to unlock the Research Center, where the real magic happens! Tap on the Research Center building, then hit the Research icon to see a breakdown of the four main points of development your City needs to reach in order to progress further in the game. These four sections are; Military, Resources, City Defense, and Imperial Development. You can either use gold or resources like timber, steel, wheat and more to start the Research process. 

Next to the Research icon in the Research Center building, is Skill. Here you can collect valuable active skill points which are crucial because the higher your level, the more powerful skills you can add to your army. But a heads-up—every skill has a cooldown after use, so use them wisely. Take Emergency Production as an example—when activated, it grants a nice boost of resources based on your city’s resource output. Perfect for when you need that extra push!

The secret to success? Keep upgrading your Research Center! Not only does it unlock advanced tech and new abilities, but it also helps boost your City’s development and strengthens your troops at the same time. So, keep it going, and watch your army grow stronger and smarter!

With such a huge army though, you will need a boatload of resources to not only feed the people in your City, but to keep them safe from harm and of course sheltered properly. Get ready to get down and dirty in Thrones and Beauties, because restoring your empire to its once pristine state, will be hard work Commander!

However, gold is limited, so it is crucial to spend it wisely. For day-to-day tasks like constructing buildings, training soldiers, or advancing research, natural resources such as timber, steel, and wheat are more abundant and should be used regularly to keep your empire growing.

Resource production buildings, such as your Lumber Yard, Steel Mine, and Farmland, are the lifeblood of your empire. Upgrading these buildings is essential to ensuring a steady flow of resources, and neglecting them could result in shortages that slow your progress. As you continue to expand your city, you will want to keep these production facilities upgraded to meet the growing needs of your empire. A well-maintained production system will ensure your army stays supplied and your city continues to develop at a steady pace. Plus, you never have to worry about your Storehouse being looted as it is protected! 

Speaking of essential resources you will want to collect, check out the Altar where you can perform Rituals using offerings to obtain necessary materials like diamonds, lumber, and so much more. A certain amount of free Rituals are given a day, so take advantage of it as they do not accumulate. 

With daily check-ins as well as idle rewards, you won’t want to miss out on these great opportunities to continuously win!
